CONTEXT

Candid partners with licensed dental professionals to bring high-quality clear aligners to their patients. The company provides an end-to-end tech-enabled clinical service experience, from diagnostic material collection through remote patient monitoring.

OBJECTIVES

Improve quality and reduce costs by bringing the treatment planning and manufacturing processes in-house. This includes:

• designing the end-to-end cross-functional workflows and systems across the treatment planning and manufacturing teams

• integrating with hardware systems throughout the manufacturing floor

• developing a comprehensive tracking system to understand the device history and status

• planning for scale, in number of patients and in product offerings

OUTCOME

• Candid launched its treatment planning facility (Costa Rica) and two manufacturing facilities (Milpitas | Tijuana)

• Launched a manufacturing execution system that included file management, quality inspections, and hardware integrations (3D printers, thermoformers, laser-cutters, and shipping labeler)
