CONTEXT
Vertebral Augmentation is a minimally invasive surgery used to resolve vertebral fractures.
OBJECTIVE
Develop surgical tools that allows for more control and flexibility of cement placement within a fractured vertebrae. The overall goal of the surgery is to reduce pain, increase mobility, and improve the quality of life for the patient with a vertebral fracture.
OUTCOME
Developed and managed the end-to-end life cycle of the AVAflex balloon system, the largest balloon on the market at the time of development (see Press Release)
Expanded the portfolio by 17 SKUs with new vertebral needles and balloons (including the largest balloon on the market)
Co-wrote and obtained one patent (US10105171B2), two FDA clearances, and CE mark classification to enable sales in Europe
Supported the go-to-market team by creating clinical training and sales materials
